										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One in 11 children suffer from asthma and<b> </b>a child is taken to hospital every 18 minutes because of its symptoms.<b></b></p>
<p>But just because your child has been diagnosed with asthma doesn’t mean they can’t lead a perfectly normal, healthy and socially active life. Find out how you can manage the condition to keep them safe and happy.</p>
<p><b> </b></p>
<h2><b>Managing asthma during school hours</b></h2>
<p>You can’t be with them every minute of the day, so it’s important that you talk with your child’s teacher to make sure that everyone who will be caring for your child at school – from the nurse to the PE teacher – knows about their condition. Share your asthma action plan with all of them.</p>
<p>It’s also important that your child understands what it means to have asthma, how to spot a flare-up coming on and what they need to do if they have an asthma attack.</p>
<p>If they’re really young it can be a struggle to make them understand their condition without scaring them so you might want to read a children’s book together which explains it to them. <i>Abby’s Asthma and the Big Race</i> by Theresa Martin Golding or <i>I Have Asthma</i> by Jennifer Moore-Mallinos are both popular with parents and children coping with asthma.</p>
<p><b> </b></p>
<h2><b>Have an asthma action plan</b></h2>
<p>A lot of parents find that having an action plan really helps them manage and keep track of their child’s asthma. This will collate everything related to their condition, from what medicines they take (and when they take them), what triggers symptoms and what to do if an attack happens. You can work with a template designed by the charity Asthma UK if you’re not sure where to start.</p>

<h2><b>Know their triggers</b></h2>
<p>Their GP’s allergy test may have thrown some light on what might trigger their symptoms, but it’s crucial that you keep an eye out for other causes too. Keeping a diary could help you spot a connection between their flare-ups and something in their lifestyle.</p>
<p>Common triggers include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Physical exercise</li>
<li>Allergens (pollen, dust mites and animal fur)</li>
<li>Airborne irritants (air freshener, cigarette smoke, pollution)</li>
<li>Mould or damp in the house</li>
<li>Chest infects brought on by  a cold</li>
<li>Food allergies</li>
<li>Emotional factors (being stressed or laughing too heartily)</li>
<li>Sudden changes in the weather</li>
</ul>
<p>Once you know your child’s triggers you can look at how to avoid them while letting them lead their lives.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><b>Lifestyle</b></h2>
<p>If you or anyone in your house smokes, try to avoid lighting up anywhere near your asthmatic child as this could make their symptoms worse. Asthma-related hospital admissions have gone down since the ban on smoking indoors was introduced.</p>
<p>Exercise is an important part of any healthy child’s life, and they should be able to take part in team sports and hobbies just like anyone else. If they warm up and cool down before and after exerting themselves and learn to breathe through their noses, they should be fine.</p>
<p>But it’s also wise for them to carry an inhaler just in case. If your child does experience asthmatic symptoms after playing sport and often has trouble breathing, speak to your GP to discuss what can be done.</p>
<h2><b>Spot a flare-up</b></h2>
<p>The sooner you can detect the early warning signs of a flare-up in their symptoms, the better. Look out for wheezing, restless sleep, a lot of throat clearing, tightness in the chest, coughing that’s not caused by a cold and fast or irregular breathing.</p>
<p>Even if you both do everything by the book, avoiding triggers and taking medicines, they may still have an asthma attack. It’s important you both know how to spot the symptoms and what to do.</p>
<p>Try to stay calm for both your sakes, encourage them to take a few puffs of their inhaler, sit down and take a few steady, relaxed breaths. If this doesn’t work, call an ambulance or drive them to A&amp;E.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In recent times, one of the most popular professions, certainly, has become the humble nurse.</p>
<p>Real heroes of our times, right arm of the doctor and people of great heart. Children love to play them and they often appear on the big screen; we have quickly learned to love and admire them &#8211; but alas, do we really know what it is a nurse?</p>
<p><b>Typical Day of a Nurse</b></p>
<p>Being a nurse is not only about being a care giver, it is far more than that. Often, nurses are responsible for “first response” first aid, which may be the difference between life and death.</p>
<p>The &#8220;day&#8221; periodically becomes the &#8220;night&#8221;: nursing is primarily shift based, and this is a fact that you cannot escape. It is not uncommon for a nurse to work twelve, thirteen or even fourteen hour shifts! To add to that, at night there is normally less staff on the ward, but the nurse must always be prepared to take action and deal with any situation. Also, we cannot overlook the fact that a nurse might have to work any single day of the &#8216;year:  and yes, there are those, unfortunately, who are hospitalized on the 25<sup>th of</sup> December.</p>
<p><b>First Contact with Patients</b></p>
<p>A nurse is the first point of contact of any patient who arrives on the ward, it is the nurse who is tasked with being the immediate caregiver, renouncing any fears or anxieties that patients may be facing – a talent in its self. The nurse you could argue is just as important as a Doctor.</p>
<p>Let’s not forget, that often the most difficult part of the job is the humanitarian aspect, they have to be sweet, yet firm. Of course, nurses have to touch patients physically, and let&#8217;s face it &#8211; it’s not always so easy!</p>
<p>Being a nurse also serves a good deal of detachment; the nurse cannot get emotionally or personally involved with any individual &#8211; within their professional capacity of course, they are not indoctrinated to life of loneliness. Most individuals working within this arena admit that they must be immune to everything: insults, bizarre requests, and blood curdling sights.</p>
<p><b>Activities of a Nurse: What do they do?</b></p>
<p>The tasks are many: administrator, as well as the administration. Nurses often keep patient records up to date and oversee patching punctures, informing patients about therapies as well as explaining what they are being given &#8211; and why. The problem is that the day&#8217;s work never seems to end!</p>
<p>The best thing about a nurse is that they carry out all of this work with passion, and for many being a nurse is a true calling.</p>
<p>It takes a lot to be a nurse; everyone should take the time to thank them for the dedication that they put in.</p>

You never know when they&#8217;re going to happen or how bad they&#8217;re going to be. If you have frequent, recurring headaches, fortunately, there are several things you can do to prevent them. Here are just a few options.</p>

<h2>1. Consider visiting a chiropractor.</h2>
<p>If the bones in your neck and upper back are out of whack, that can cause stress and tension in your neck and head. A chiropractor can find these issues and adjust them, reducing the frequency and intensity of the headaches. You may only need a single visit to start feeling better.</p>
<h2>2. Be aware of stress.</h2>
<p>We don&#8217;t even realize it, but stress can have a negative impact on our physical bodies. Be aware of times that are particularly stressful in your day or week, and see if it corresponds to the headaches. Do they happen more often? Are they worse? If there does seem to be a connection, learn some stress-managing techniques and do them as soon as you feel a headache coming on. <p>It may take a couple of tries to find the headache medication that works for you. Start with some basic non-prescription options. Take one dose as soon as you feel any indication that a headache is going to start &#8211; slight pressure as the base of your neck, an aching in your eyes. If this does not help prevent it, you can consider asking your doctor for a prescription for something stronger.</p>
<h2>5. Use face massage.</h2>
<p>Learn how to massage your face, head, and neck to relieve tension. Do this on a regular basis, but do it especially when you are in the midst of a headache. It helps to relax the muscles that are clenching and making your head hurt.</p>
<p>These are some easy ways to prevent most headaches before they arrive and treat the ones that make it through. If none of these methods relieve your headaches, or if they get worse, you should make sure and consult a doctor, as there may be an underlying cause that can be treated with medical help. For most people, however, these tried-and-true methods do the trick. Give them a shot and see what it&#8217;s like to live without headaches.</p>

<p>Take aloe vera gel, soy wax, almond oil and beeswax. Melt all these ingredients in any stainless steel utensil. Keep melting it on the flame until you see all the ingredients mixed properly.</p>
<p>Take off the mixture from the flame. Now mix it further with egg beater. If you do not have the egg beater, use fork for mixing the mixture.</p>
<p>Visit any beauty store that sells natural cosmetic products. There are several online beauty stores that also sell natural cosmetics. You can check out these stores too. Once you decide upon any store, buy products – skin care complex, concealer powder and rose water.</p>

<p>The dash diet plan can contribute to the resolution of the parenting problem of how to deal with obese children, but it is unlikely to provide success in such an endeavor unless the family first adjusts its perspective on the importance, and the whys of that significance, of the family meal time routine in and of itself.  The good news is the dash diet plan incorporates enough potential versatility within its recommendations to make this more than feasible in combatting childhood obesity through the cultivation of healthy meal choices in children.</p>
