The spring and summer fashion trends for 2013 are bold, colourful, and vibrant. Check a few of the do’s and don’ts in the line of cosmetics, colours, clothes, and shoes!

Cosmetics:

To get in the spring of things for 2013, the hot makeup trends of this year swing to both sides of the pendulum: bold and nude. During these sunny spring and summer days, go nude with your make up and let your natural beauty shine through with natural colours from your make up palette. Use pink lip stick, a touch of shimmer, and either coloured or black lash-building mascara. Long eye lashes are back with a bag this season so don’t be afraid to go big on it. Hello Gorgeous bare minerals is a great place to find skin coloured concealers, blushes, and shimmers. The bare minerals starter kit is also stocked full of natural skin toned makeup that is guaranteed to give you a flawless finish.

For 2013 evening make up, go all out on neon coloured shadows like pink, green, and yellow as well as shimmering colour shadows like gold, silver, and bronze. Coloured mascaras are also a huge highlight this season. Just remember to match them with the rest of your makeup. And always follow the rule of thumb, if you are going heavy on the eyes, go nude on the lips. If you are nude on the eyes, go heavy on the lips.

Colours:

This years colours are bold and blocked. As the old saying goes “go bold, or go home”. Bright oranges, reds, purples, greens, and blues are back in fashion—just this time all at the same time. There is a lot of taste required when matching these colours, but take extra care to make a fashion statement when mixing your palette so that it doesn’t turn into a fashion flop. Oh, and did we mention, neon cloth is also back in fashion! So those of us who missed the shiny clothes era can now rejoice! Oriental and fluorescent colours and hues are also back with a bang.

Clothes:

Fitting pencil skirts matched with oversized formal white shirts and extremely chic and feminine handbags are now back in style. The bigger sack-like hand bag fashion is out, and today’s bags are instead about lean and ladylike—just like Kate Middleton. Strong coloured lines are in fashion and look best on pants this year. Black-and-white checks are also big news this season, and the bigger and bolder the motif, the better. Fitting jackets are also a winner. Pencil skirts that are fitted to size with a long slit up the side, an Angelina Jolie inspired trend, are one of the hottest things on the runway this year, because now it’s is fashionable to show a bit of leg. Ruffles and frills in full array are also in fashion. With this, think flamenco, but just with matched with this years colours instead!

At the same time, minimalism is to be respected as a part of this year’s clothing trends as well. Follow the code of “all or nothing at all”. Chic ladylike dresses and feminine skirts in nude colours can be pulled off just as well as a part of this year’s fashion trends.

Shoes:

High-ankle-busting stilettos seem to be out this year as low heels take the floor in many different colours and styles. Low heeled, pointy toe shoes are really the best thing on the block for this year’s themed ladylike statement.

As a last note, don’t forget in all fashion wear to follow your body type and skin tone. Use the cuts of clothing that will flatter your figure, not just what is the latest trend. Following trends is great, but don’t be afraid to make some of your own as well. Who you really are and what you really feel is more important to the world than showcasing someone else’s idea of fashion and feelings.

Having a wide collection of jewellery items can be of little use, if you are not aware of the right jewellery-selection guidelines. In what follows, we take you through eleven mistakes that you need to steer clear of, while putting on silver jewellery and fashion jewellery for a party.

Planning to attend a lively social gathering? Sophisticated jewellery pieces should feature foremost, in the list of accessories you should put on. Make sure that you do not make the following mistakes, while selecting fashion jewellery items for yourself:

1. Don’t put on too much jewellery – A new bride can look resplendent in heavy silver jewellery and fashion jewellery – but if you don too much of such glittering pieces, you might look just a tad out of place. Keep things stylish and laid-back, by putting on a necklace, matching earrings, and rings. If the party stretches till late night, avoid wearing too much of precious jewellery. It might not be safe!

2. Don’t mix and match too much – Do not go for a combination of traditionally designed jewellery, and the more sophisticated varieties. For example, a heavy silver necklace will hardly go well with small ear-studs, and an eyebrow-ring. Stick to either conventional or experimental jewellery pieces – depending upon your preferences, and the nature of the occasion.

3. Don’t wear such jewellery that won’t match your dress – If you wish to don an off-shoulder party gown, a pearl necklace would go very well with it. On the other hand, if ethnic dresses (like salwar suits, sarees, etc.) are your choice, go for heavier silver jewellery and fashion jewellery. The jewellery should complement the dress that you have put on.

4. Don’t put on damaged/defective jewellery – The clasp of your favorite necklace has become loose? Avoid wearing it at a bustling party, and look for alternative options. It might slip off, without your being aware of it. Putting on damaged jewellery pieces would also require you to stay alert about them all the time – robbing the sheer enjoyments of the gathering from you.

5. Don’t ignore outfit suggestions – Many portals for womens fashion online also offer handy outfit suggestions. They will give you a clear idea of the type of jewellery that should be worn with a particular dress. Match your jewellery with your apparel, and give your overall appeal a significant boost!

6. Don’t ignore your physical features – If your height is nothing to write home about, avoid putting on those long ear-danglers. For ladies with a fuller figure, wide bracelets/anklets are ideal. In general, select earrings according to the shape of your face – and other jewellery pieces according to your build. Your physical attributes should play an important role in your choice of jewellery.

7. Don’t repeat the same jewellery for too many consecutive parties – You, like most other members of the fairer sex, probably have certain favorite pieces of jewellery, right? Wearing them at each and every party you attend would, however, be a folly. Remember – in the world of jewellery fashion, having a signature style works, being repetitive does not!

8. Don’t wear substandard jewellery to a classy party – Imagine this: all the other ladies are walking about in sparkling, authentic silver jewellery and fashion jewellery, while your imitation pieces are looking rather dull. Not a pleasant picture, right? Dress according to the occasion, find out the type of jewellery that the other ladies would be wearing (if possible), and follow suit.

9. Don’t buy jewellery online from any website – Check the jewellery collections available at three to five fashion online shopping websites. Buy from the one that offers trendy items that meet your tastes and style preferences. Keep an eye out for discount offers and payment security options too.

10. Make sure that the jewellery does not get stained – While having food, take off your finger-ring(s) and put them in your clutch bag. Be careful while eating and drinking too, to avoid accidental spillages on your valuable jewellery. If you wish to wear silver jewellery at the party, make sure it is not already tarnished.

11. Don’t blindly follow fashion fads – Chokers are in – but you do not really fancy them. Do not wear chokers, simply because most of the other lady-guests will be wearing it too. Select jewellery according to your own preferences. If you don’t like a particular type of jewellery, you will not be able to carry it off well.

Check any good online shopping website, to get an idea of the silver jewellery and fashion jewellery that would go best with different types of womens clothing and other accessories. Never lend your jewellery to anyone, unless you know that person really well. Avoid committing the above mistakes, and appear at your dazzling best!

One should never use a running shoe for walking. This is because the design and structure of the different shoe types have been modeled to reflect the nature of the sporting activity that they are being used for. Shoes that are used for running have distinct features from shoes that are used for walking.

None of the shoes should be used interchangeably for the different sporting activities. The following characteristics exist in the different shoe types.

Cushioning

Running shoes have a much heavier cushioning than the walking shoes. This is because as the runners are engaged in the activities, they tend to impact the ground with a much heavier weight than when walking. This weight can be as high as two times the body weight depending on the speed of the runner.

Due to the high impact that they have on the ground, they need higher cushioning on the heel portion of the shoes than the shoes of their walking counterparts. The higher cushion you have on the heels of your shoes, the less force you will feel when you “hit” the ground running.

Another feature that running shoes have is the cushioning can also be concentrated on the front of the shoe since that is also the place that touches the ground first. The increase in cushioning adds extra weight on the shoes, and for this reason, it may not be good to use running shoes for walking shoes that as this may slow you as you walk.

Walking shoes have cushioning concentrated on the back and center of the shoes. This means that people keen to walk should look for shoes that are light so as not to feel as if their feet are being dragged.

Flexibility

The flexibility of the running shoes is also different from that of the walking shoes. For the running shoes, when you hold the shoes and try to press it on the ground firmly as you bend it, you will find that the shoes will flex on the mid foot. This is because that is where you will likely flex your leg when you are running.

For the walking shoes, you will realize that the shoe will flex at the front. This is because that is the point that will flex when you are walking.

Heel Height

The height of the heels for the shoes of runners is quite different from the height of the heels of walking shoes. For the runners, you will find that they will strike the ground from the front of their heel to the middle as they run. For this reason, you will find that the height of their shoes is quite high.

On the other hand, walkers strike the ground with the back of their heel. This makes the heel of their shoes to be slightly shorter when compared to the running shoes.

Many of us are dreaming about the so awaited Easter break, and for the last-minute preparation most women usually start going blurry and get anxious about packing! Whether you will spend those few days back home with your family or you have already planned a small escape to some warmer destination; the fear is always that of forgetting the most important things. Packing light is not always easy, so let´s think about what are the most vital items that you should remember to bring for your get-away.

The Check List

Make sure to brig with you one luggage only, otherwise you´ll be in pain carrying around all that weight! Pick it big enough, but it has to be something that is easy to carry. A good idea when starting to pack is to first do a check list of all the things you will need to bring. The internet here can come in handy: packinglistonline.com offers you an easy way to do it. You can insert information regarding your destination, temperature, length and means of travel, activities you´ll likely undertake while there and the site will provide you a useful list of everything you will need. Make sure to bring an extra empty and foldable bag, so that you won´t have to spare on your on-site shopping!

The Issue

We women, are always chronically undecided on what to wear, therefore we tend to bring a little of everything “just in case”. Be smart: if you are staying away only a few days, prepare already a few outfits that you will need for sure; try to “recycle” the same items to make a different outfit with just a little add (e.g. The same top with two different pair of pants). Most importantly, do not exaggerate with the shoes! And try to wear those that will take out most of the space on your way there (unless super uncomfortable, otherwise you will be coursing the entire way to your destination!).

Layers

Same thing as above can work for other clothes too. If your bag is already full, but you are sure you will going to need exactly that jacket, and you think that maybe your beloved cardigan could be useful if nights are chilly… then layer up! Without becoming the cannon girl, just try to wear on your trip all those items that just take unnecessary space from your luggage. Remember still to be comfortable and don’t dress up too much or you will melt all the way!

Source: anythingeverythinghere.com

What about Make-up?

Make-up is always very important: but try to be realistic. Think about where you are headed. If you are planning a weekend under the sun, maybe you won´t need much make-up with you after all. Stick to the basics; only bring those products that make up of your every- occasion-cosmetics and you´ll be perfect and beautiful in every situation. Instead of bringing all your body, face and hand lotions, go for travel kits and smaller sizes. You might also want to consider using a plastic make-up bag, if worried about some pool splashes or if you are going camping.

Some Sparkle

Go light with the jewellery and, as for clothing, consider wearing the least precious ones while headed to you weekend destination. Bring a statement piece that can match most of your outfits and try to go for something sparkling and light instead of precious stones that unfortunately weight a lot!

Done. Are you able to carry your own luggage without your boyfriend´s help?! If yes, then you are ready to go! Have fun ladies!

For over forty years, Robert Talbott has been America’s most premium maker of hand made neckwear. He launched his first shirt line in the year 1992. It was a huge risk since being a leader in the tie industry does not guarantee the same success in a different clothing line. The startup happened by them buying a highly popular shirt maker that excelled in craftsmanship.

In the year 1990, Robert Talbott shirts took over Lucerne shirt makers. Immediately after that they hired Mark Calder, a leading Californian designer who specialized in international and chic look. He worked paralleled with Robert Jensen leading to the birth of Estate lines of dress shirts. Robert Talbotts estate neckwear line made by Robert Jensen came in the picture a few years later.

The company’s life and story is considered legendary in the American fashion industry. In the middle century a successful Wall Street investment banker gave up all and heads west with his wife. They were settled in California with very little money to startup their own business. However, they entrepreneurial zeal and goal lead them to successfully start a factory of hand sewing neckwear in a two car garage. Around 50 years later, the small startup catering to some tie lovers went on to be the largest neckwear maker in the world. Robert Talbott passed away in the year 1986 but the business is still being run successfully by his wife Audrey.

The company very strictly adheres to the principals followed by Robert when he was alive. Everyone who had known Robert was aware that he believed in the philosophy of quality and not money. He always had the zeal to be the best and wanted to feature in the top of the American fashion industry. The reason why robert talbot ties went up was due to the fact that he stuck to making high quality products making hand craftsmanship a top priority.

The firm initially was into making bow ties but Robert always wanted to expand into a full clothing line. He devised new strategies to be the number one player in the market. Robert Talbott sevenfold strategy created wonders for the company. However with time the sevenfold technology died down as it involved use of double the amount of silk of ties leading to higher cost process. It became extremely difficult to find hand sewers who knew working with this technique. But Robert got lucky in the year 1985 with Lydia Grayson – a leading specialist in sevenfold technique in Chicago.

In order to become globally know, Talbot started showcasing his collection in the European trade fairs and exhibitions as well. The firm exhibited its collection in the well known Pitti Uomo show in Rome consecutively for three years. This presence got the firm closer to leading European tie and shirt makers like Charvet, Lorenzini, Asser etc.

The estate shirts have an international look and feel to it. They do not believe in following the latest fashion but in creating a classic look. Their styles include the popular collar styles like elongated point, cutaway, button down etc. The unique point of Robert Talott shirts is that they are sewn by hand and the silk gussets, buttons are specially made in England. No other company has ever put so much handwork like Talbott.

Talbott’s sport shirts are also popular. The material is soft with one piece tailored and spread collars. Their other expansions include waistcoats, vests and robes. This is a mark of the company’s large market share in the luxury fashion world. Robert Talbott very rightly adhered to his saying –“Take the top and run with it”.

The capital of beautiful blond sirens, also known as the Nordic capital of fashion, Copenhagen, is one of the most beautiful cities in the world known for its minimalistic architecture. This minimalistic style also resonates with most of the Scandinavian designs, including clothing. Danish fashion is known for its simple lines, block colors, and eco-friendly materials, and can be best described as classical, futuristic, or sometimes rock chic. Fashion is raw and it radiates confidence, providing a clean look. It makes you think of modernized Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Onassis, and Bridget Bardot. What is great about it is that it is quite timeless, so it’s definitely worth investing in even if the clothes have above average price tags. To achieve this look there are a few items to consider.

Black Leather Jacket

A black leather jacket is usually a good idea and it’s also a very practical one as it fits with most clothing. Biker jackets are coolest as they are casual, but more classical cuts are easier to combine with most clothing. Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish weather is unpredictable so a jacket is a must at all times, unless of course it’s snowing outside.

White Shirt

A white shirt may sound formal, but it is also a classical piece of clothing that truly never gets old. To avoid looking like a secretary, we should wear the shirt with blue jeans or get one that has motives á la Paul Smith on the collar. Usually a slim fit cut adds a feminine touch to this fairly masculine garment.

Blue Jeans

Alright, I admit this is an easy one and maybe not so Scandinavian even; but the truth is everybody wears jeans. The women of the North are known to be quite dominant and equal to men in their society, which means many of them literally and implicitly ‘wear the pants’. Truthfully, jeans are easy to wear with sneaks and heels, so there is nothing not to love about them.

Tote Bag

What would any girl be without her bag? Similarly to the rest of the outfit, the bag must be simple and preferably made of leather. Dependent on your lifestyle, this can be a tote bag or a regular laptop bag of course, but make sure to go with black, to match the leather jacket.

Wedges

Usually high heels aren’t comfortable unless they have a great cut and steady support. Especially Danes, living in Copenhagen, bike a whole lot. They also bike in high heels and obviously wedges are the most comfortable choice because they provide great balance and height. Most Scandinavians own a pair of these shoes though, regardless of their biking habits.
