So, what keeps you from buying a used car? Do you think your relatives, friends, or neighbours will mock at you? Are you ashamed of using a used car thinking that it may lower your reputation? It these are the things that are worrying you, then keep these worries aside and set out to buy a used car today. Many used cars look as good as new ones and are in a perfect working condition.

1.Plan your budget. If you are willing to spend a small amount on repairs that are required in a used car, then it is definitely a good bet than spending a humongous amount on a brand new, sparkling car. Your budget will decide whether you can go for a domestic car or imported cars.

2.It is very important to know the history of the used car that you wish to purchase. If the car has gone through multiple repairs in a short time and needs to be serviced more often than it is used, then it is not a good option. You will waste money on such cars, and they won’t be of any use to you. If the passengers of a car have gone through major accidents, then don’t even consider the option of buying that particular car. You may hire the help of a good car mechanic to test the car, its parts, and its usability.

3.It is a good idea to test-drive a car before purchasing it. If you are still learning to drive, you may take along a friend or an acquaintance who knows how to drive. This way you will ensure that the car that is being sold to you isn’t of junk quality. Cars that are inefficient in fuel usage, give rise to enormous pollution, and produce weird sounds on usage are as good as junk. If your car gives way on just covering a short distance, rethink your decision to buy that car.

4.Gear manoeuvring should be easily done; else your car is severely damaged and may cause accidents. Sudden change of gears like use of reverse gear when faced with another vehicle or block is of paramount importance in smooth driving and saving yourself from a mishap. If the tyres aren’t of the best quality, you can always replace them. But, if the core parts like internal engine are malfunctioning, then the car is not fit for purchase.

5.Calculate the total cost of the car plus the cost of the repairs to be done. If that is much less than the cost of a brand new car, then the used car is worth purchasing. Else, it is not worth the deal. Whether you want to buy used classic cars or cars of the new era with the latest technology, make sure you are update with all the required checks and not making a hurried purchase.

One of the greatest reasons for the change in direction of the auto industry is the globalization, which has been in full swing for a couple decades now. That’s why most car makers have been forced to try and find new markets to push their products in, and change and adjust their vehicles accordingly. So, all the large car manufacturers have been recently focusing on emerging markets, such as China, as the world’s biggest emerging market, along with Brazil and India. With the way the Chinese economy has been growing for quite some time, a lot of new vehicles have been coming into China, ready to be bought by millions and millions of people that have recently become incredibly wealthy.

But, apart from importing millions of vehicles from America, Europe and Japan, the Chinese have started making some huge investments in their own auto industry, as well, in efforts to take advantage of the increased demand for new vehicles in their country, but with increased appetites to conquer foreign markets, as well. As a result, a couple of Chinese car making companies, such as Great Wall Motor, have been able to get to some pretty good sales numbers in the last 2-3 years, both in China and abroad, mostly in markets that still haven’t been tapped by large Japanese or European companies.

Another important thing that has changed in the automotive industry is the type of vehicles that are being produced now. Considering the growing concerns over the environment and the huge negative impact cars have on it, focus has been turned towards making more environmentally-friendly vehicles. So, instead of continuing production of those gasoline-powered cars that leave great amounts of carbon footprint and are a huge contributing factor  to air pollution, most car makers are now making efforts to construct greener vehicles that are more eco-friendly. Japanese companies are leading the way in this segment, with some of the best, most eco-friendly vehicles coming from manufacturers such as Toyota and Honda. Additionally, as gas prices constantly go higher and higher for years, more fuel efficient cars are in huge demand. So, consumers can now choose from a wide array or fuel efficient, environmentally-friendly vehicles, something that they weren’t able to do up until recently. With all this in mind, this should be the direction the global auto industry is going to move for years to come.

To solve this problem, car manufacturers are continually trying to make cars safer with the help of technology. For instance, to reduce the risk of collisions, car manufacturers built cars that can detect cars ahead or behind it. With the use of radar technology, cars can now detect when it comes too close to another car by sounding an alarm or automatically stopping at a safe distance.

Docking Systems and Bluetooth

While cars are of course intended for transportation, they are now also typically equipped with the latest in creature comforts provided by technology. Built-in speakers, heated seats, voice command recognition, entertainment systems, satellite radios, and even luxurious upholstery are just a few of the perks built into cars. With the advent of iPhones, docking systems are now available to easily listen to your music on your iPhone or better yet, transfer your files directly to your car’s entertainment system through Bluetooth.

As cars are meant for transportation, the development of the GPS meant that more people would be able to easily use cars, even if they weren’t good at reading maps. GPS systems are constantly being improved and updated, and so far it’s normal for people to talk to their cars to ask for directions, a concept completely alien and mostly science fiction just three to four decades ago.

Aerodynamics and Modernization

Brilliant minds create the brilliant cars. This is very apparent in the designs of cars sold worldwide, from the very first Ford to the latest Lamborghini. Car designs continue to integrate advancing technology by keeping up with it through design to make the car more appealing, faster, and lighter. The spoilers, vents, and the external depressions on cars today are not just part of an effort to make the cars more appealing, but also more aerodynamic and thus more travel and fuel efficient. All in all it is safe to say that the advances in technology we see in our homes and at work are quickly making their way into our cars and features that were not even available on the top of the range models 5 years ago are now standard features on even budget models.
