You will have to buy new cartridges after several refills. Most guidelines recommend approximately four refills from one cartridge. This may not sound like a lot. But, when you consider the fact that you are actually going to pay for one in five cartridges, compared to paying for the full five now, you see the huge difference. In fact, if an ink cartridge costs you say £20; at present you spend £100 on five cartridges, which through refilling you make a saving of £80. It’s definitely worthwhile. So, how do you refill your ink cartridges? Well, you will need to purchase a refill kit first and foremost. This will contain everything you require for the following procedure. You will begin the process by putting your empty cartridge onto a paper cloth. Now you need to find the hole that leads to the reservoir. Run your fingers across the label and you will note that there are actually several different holes. The one you require should be easily identifiable because it will contain sponge. Once you have done this you will then need to use something sharp and thin, like a pin, and pierce a hole in the top of the cartridge. This will be your refill hole.

How to insert the syringe

The next step is how to insert the syringe (which will have been supplied with the kit you have purchased) into the hole. You need to push it deep inside so that the sponge goes down to the bottom. Once you have done this it is now time to inject the ink. Please make sure you do this slowly. If you do it too quickly you will end up with air bubbles. As soon as you see the tiniest bit of overfill you need to finish the process. You will draw a small amount of the ink back into the syringe and then you will extract it from the cartridge. Again, you must do this slowly.

Once that step has been complete. Make sure you gently dab the cartridge with some kitchen towel. And finally all you need to do is cover it again. It is always a good idea to print a test page just to check that everything is working properly. Nonetheless, if you follow this guide in a step by step manner, then you should definitely achieve the outcome you are looking for.
