When we drive in our dreams, we throw ourselves through traffic, drive recklessly through local malls, challenge subway trains and dodge hostile men chasing us in helicopters. If we’ve just seen “The Italian Job”, we do it in a Mini Cooper.

Mini Coopers have everything a driver needs to enjoy a car. They’re small, powerful and handle like go-karts. They make a nice noise as well. The Mini was born in 1959 in a plant owned by the British Motor Corporation and kept the same general shape and layout for the next sixty years. The engine sits longitudinally just in back of the front axle. The car is short and the passengers sit upright. There’s not much room for luggage, but the gas mileage and handling are excellent.

The plot of the movie opens with a betrayal of a team of thieves by one of its members, Steve. The team stole $35 million in gold and want to get it out of Italy. Driving through the Alps, Steve leads them to an ambush in which Steve kills the father of Stella, another gang member, and steals the gold for himself. A year later, the gang locates Steve in Los Angeles. They steal the gold from him and use Mini-Coopers to get away. They trap Steve at the end of the movie and allow him to be taken away for torture and death by a Ukrainian mob.

The chase scenes show Steve hunting down the gang in a helicopter through the streets of L.A. The heavily modified Mini’s weave through traffic, play chicken with the helicopter in a parking garage, dash down the stairs in a subway tunnel and drive recklessly through the sewers and onto the L.A. river.

Mark Wahlberg plays Charlie Croker, the team leader. Wahlberg carries an honest sense of menace. As a juvenile, Wahlberg was in trouble with the Boston Legal System 20 to 25 times. He was addicted to cocaine and other illegal substances by age 13. At 16 he attacked two Vietnamese men, in two separate incidents, and served time in prison for attempted murder. He broke the jaw of a neighbor in an unprovoked assault when he was 21. He came by the criminal life naturally; three of his brothers served time in prison. After realizing that life in prison didn’t fit his personality, he changed and has been living an honorable life since then. However, the feeling of danger clings to him like the smell of his cologne.

BMW owns the Mini-Cooper Company, and they bring their racing expertise to the smaller car. The current performance-tuned Mini-Cooper is a responsive, powerful car with good suspension, brakes and acceleration. The engine of a current Mini Cooper S has a supercharger and puts out 208 horsepower. Swapping the supercharger pulley for a smaller one will increase horsepower by 15%. That’s almost 240 horsepower in a car that weighs under 2,700 pounds. A supercar you can tuck in your pocket.

We don’t live in a movie. We have to drive the kids to the mall as well as spend time on twisty mountain roads. A Mini Cooper is a good dual-personality car.

Disregarding where you work at or where you are right now, when a toothache hits you will be forced to visit your doctor, if you

decide not to do it; it is very likely that your work life would be destroyed. This is because the toothaches can overtake your desire to work or to do anything at all. This dental condition originates with the pulp of the tooth as a result of an internal inflammation that is the cause of the pain. Your doctor will probably tell you that the pulp of the tooth is very sensitive area of the body. The pulp of the tooth is sensitive because this part of the tooth has many nerve endings. So, contact with any part of the pulp result into pain. Some of the causes for the inflammation of the pulp are dental cavities, infection and/or trauma. If you are currently experiencing dental pain you should take it very seriously. Dental pain can be the first stage of many more serious dental conditions. In this blog article we will present some of symptoms you should pay attention to.

Toothache symptoms that can make life a nightmare

Normally, the toothache pain includes discomfort around the tooth and jawbone area. Added to this, and as we mentioned earlier, regardless of where you are, you could feel pain even when you are drinking a hot or cold drink. Most of the times, a person that is suffering from toothaches will feel pain if pressure is applied. Some patients don´t feel pain constantly, but in certain cases patients can feel continuous pain for up to 25 seconds. You will generally fell pain around the affected area, but this pain can radiate to the jaw, the ear or the cheek. So, if you are experiencing these symptoms on the daily basis, try to spot the area of inflammation or visit your dentist as soon as you can. Some more serious symptoms include bleeding or discharge from the gums, as well as pus around jawbone area. Do not wait for long to visit your dentist if this is your case.

Your dentist will probably tell you that you toothaches are a result of dental decay or gum disease. If you are observant enough, you don´t need to visit your dentist to know where your pain is coming from. Look in your mirror for any areas of redness, or dental decay and this is probably where the pain if coming from. IN most cases, if your tooth is not looking good, direct contact will provoke pain. For patients living around the New York, California or Florida area, they could visit top quality dentist. For instance these patients could visit their Family Dentist. He or she will identify how previous dental conditions can be the source of your pain, even if your teeth look healthy.

Visiting your dentist often and practicing good dental hygiene will prevent toothaches. This will help you avoid uncomfortable situations at work. We hope that our advice can serve your needs and hopefully you will take the steps you need to take to have a great dental condition.

We’ve all been there; you’ve taken an excursion on holiday with the hope of getting out of your resort and seeing your destination up close and personal, perhaps you want to integrate with the locals, or just see the country you’re in beyond the four walls of your hotel.

It sounds like a great idea on paper but suddenly you’ve found yourself stuck on a tourist coach without
air-conditioning & struggling to get up a hill as the tour guide rambles on with nonsensical stories that may or may not be true. It’s an all too common mistake, but why suffer any more? It’s time to get yourself out of the tourist trap and onto the open road as you become your own tour guide on the greatest driving roads in the world.

Los Angeles to San Francisco

Considered one of the greatest drives in the world the roads on this route have been the location for countless movie scenes and now it’s your turn to join in the fun.

Driving along the California coast you’ll take in the Pacific Ocean, watching in awe as waves crash against the jagged shoreline before stopping at one of the many picturesque mountain ranges. Be sure to visit towns including Laguna Beach and Carmel by the Sea.

The real highlight of the trip is yet to come, as you enter San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge opens up before you welcoming you to one of America’s most famous landmarks.

Driving Time:
11 Hours Non Stop

Highlights:
Carmel by the Sea, Monterey Bay, Hearst Castle, Golden Gate Bridge

Watch out for:

Devils Slide, named due to erosion that previously made the road impassable.

Stay at:

The Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire (L.A) Marriot Union Square (San Francisco)

Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road – United Arab Emirates

English: Jebel Hafeet mountain in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

There’s something slightly impure about having this road on our list, after all it was built specifically to be the ultimate driving road and only leads from a car park to a hotel (albeit a very luxurious one.)

However what the road lacks in purity it more than makes up for in terms of sheer driving fun, with 60 formula one inspired corners and a 4,000 foot ascent. Furthermore, it’s almost always empty
(after all it doesn’t really go anywhere) meaning you are assured of hours of fun without the risk of a single traffic jam.

Driving Time:

30 minutes Non Stop

Highlights:

60 Formula one inspired corners and an 18 hole golf course at the summit,

Watch out for:
Due to the 45c heat the surrounding Sand Dunes seem to move, be sure to keep your eyes on the road!

Cape Town – Port Elizabeth – South Africa

Wine enthusiasts will love this journey from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth as your drive past 65 different wineries all more tantalising than the other… but be warned, you may need to appoint a designated driver.

The route passes through South Africa’s famous Winelands and offers 748km of winding roads and stunning landscapes, well what else would you expect in a country as diverse and magnificent as South Africa?

Stop at the natural springs and Roman baths located at the warmwaterberg spa, it’s a great place to relax after hours of driving. The route also takes you past Klaasvoogds game reserve, an ideal location to spot wildebeest, leopard and zebra.

Driving Time:

9.5 Hours Non Stop

Highlights:

Take a donkey trail over the Swatberg mountain range

Watch out for:

This is a long journey so be sure to split driving duties

Stay at:

Cape Grace Hotel (Cape Town) Protea Hotel Marine (Port Elizabeth)
