Greece is a highly spiritual country with a history that is based on legends and energy, in so many possible variations. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise to notice various energy places that draw in millions of people from all around the world every single year. Greece as a country is a place of mystery that has legends that are impossible not to attract you. With this in mind, here are the mysterious energy places in Greece you have to visit.

Lakonia – Pyramid Of Taygetos Mountain

This is a phenomenon pyramid that is located right on the highest peak of Mount Taygetos. It is quite unique and there are claims that this is actually the oldest of all the pyramids in the entire world. Most people want to visit in order to figure out if the pyramid was created by humans or it is a natural phenomenon. This is a place filled with energy and power that is said to be highly beneficial for the visitors.

Attica – Davelis Cave

This is a metaphysical location in Greece, most likely, the best known one. Davelis Cave has so many mysteries and legends attached to its name. It is seen as god Pan’s once holy place, together with the Nymphs, a true milestone for Greek mythology. What is interesting is that this is the one location in the country that brought in the most stories associated with ghost stories, electromagnetic phenomena, conspiracy theories, time gates, Davelis legend and other myths or legends.

Arkadia – Church Of Aghia Theodora

This is definitely a weird Greek church that is located in the Arkadia Prefecture, close to Megalopolis, one of the fantastic energy places in Greece. There are 17 trees that embrace a church built in the 12th century. Brunches actually pop through the roof and you never see the roots. Experts do not understand this phenomenon. Public tradition says that Saint Theodora was responsible as her body became the church, while the hair grew into the trees that surround the church. Positive energy can be found all around this church so you do want to consider a visit.

Argolida – Asclepion At Epidaurus

This is a huge healing temple, the largest one that still stands today. It is dedicated to Asclepios and the temple stood out as a meeting point for those that were suffering in ancient Greece. The location is highly positively charged and you will feel great from the moment you see it.

Aherusia

Aherusia was seen as the entrance of Hades to his underworld and frightful rivers in ancient Greece. Human imagination and mythology created a location that has so much history. You can feel the energy created here along the years through necromancy stories and so many otherworldly legends.

Thanks to its plethora of organized beaches, visitors in Santorini are lucky enough to get the chance to try out a great selection of water sports for beginners and advanced funs alike!

To start with, in the longest shores of Santorini, such as the black-sand beaches of Kamari and Perissa you can find water ski facilities to slalom through the crystal clear waters of Santorini; jet skis to top up your adrenaline and a variety of less demanding and more entertaining amenities, including banana or donut rides for ultimate fun.

Moreover, thanks to the prevailing northeastern winds, Santorini is also ideal for more athletic activities. For those of you eagerly want to master the salty waves, test their resistance to the sea wind or even see the sunbathing crowds from above; surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing feature among the top choices on the whole of the island. You can either bring your own equipment or hire some from the beach. If you are not experienced in these kind of sports, but still thrilled to see others showing off their skills, then visit any of the seafront water sports schools, where professional instructors will teach you all the right techniques. Scuba diving also holds a special place on the island! Due to its volcanic nature Santorini boasts a sea bed rich in beauty and underwater attractions. Choose one of the many diving schools and safely start your diving sessions on site!

However, if you are more of an earthy type, then you’ll be happy to know that on most beaches you can find volley or soccer facilities for some extra fun with your friends. What’s more, as an alternative to jet skis and water skiing, you can rent a pedalo and explore the rocky formations surrounding your beach.

Last but not least there is sailing! If your wish to discover the surrounding beauty of Santorini in comfort and style then opt for a private cruise with your friends or significant other and sail around the charming coastline of Santorini. Soak up that all important sun and sea on board your top-notch yacht and enjoy your lunch or even romantic dinner, literary in the middle of the sea! Art Maisons’ Blue Pearl can take you on a private cruise around the Aegean islands or sail you around Santorini during the magical sunset.

Summer in Santorini could never be boring. Restless or more relaxed holiday types will bump into their paradise here! This summer Santorini is waiting for you to discover its many hidden graces!

The little town of Delphi is about 3hrs driving from the city of Athens, right at the foot of Mount Parnassos, the most famous ski resort in Greece. Once regarded the centre of the Greek world, Delphi is a place of rich and special history. It was an ancient Greek city home to the most important oracle of ancient Greece. Back in those times Delphi was considered the sacred and panhellenic center for all Greeks.

Also known as the navel of the earth, Delphi is located in a unique location surrounded by a landscape of rugged and imposing grandeur. Delphi Oracle is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring many iconic monuments, which leave visitors thrilled and excited.

Within easy reach from Athens, Delphi is the ideal destination for a day trip, during your stay in the gorgeous capital of Greece. But, because you won’t stay in Greece forever, it is important to see and do as much as you can, and you’ll actually make it if you plan your time wise. What you could do is get advice from an expert tour guide agency, such as Key Tours, and let them arrange a comprehensive trip to Delphi for you!

What to see

The Temple of Apollo located in a prominent and central position, is the most important monument of the site. The temple included great statues and offerings to the god, and served as a place for rituals. The temple was also used to safe keep the trophies from major Athenian victories and other items dedicated to the Temple.

The Theater of Delphi situated right above the Temple of Apollo is well-preserved and offers stunning views to the lush green mountainous scenery.

The Archaeological Museum of Delphi is one of the most important museums in Greece, displaying findings telling the story of the Oracle. What you shouldn’t miss though is the bronze statue of Iniochos.

Deplhi Today

Modern Delphi is a charming village with quaint houses, traditional tavernas and cozy tourist accommodation. Thanks to its elevated position the village overlooks the sea of the Corinthian Gulf miles away.

After a busy day sightseeing you should take some time and relax, wandering around this hospitable mountain resort. What you can find here apart from souvenirs, is shops with authentic pieces of art by local artists, clothes shops and shops selling local products, such as olive oil and products made of it, and the delicious soft cheese formaela, best eaten fried.

Extra Tips

Delphi can be visited all year round, but it’s better to plan your trip in spring when the weather is mild and the scorching sun won’t leave you exhausted…or sunburned!

Keep in mind that your visit to the archaeological sites will be long, so you’d better start early. The museum and the archaeological site are open daily from 8:30 to 15:00.

Wear comfortable shoes and light clothes. Beware of the slippery areas!

The unique volcanic setting of Santorini is an ideal holiday destination, thanks to its magnificent views, traditional Cycladic houses, unearthly beaches and interesting archaeological sites. Although, Santorini is mostly visited by lovebirds that want to seal their love with a kiss at the time the red-hot sun is setting into the Aegean Sea, there are still more this small paradise has to offer!

Sights and attractions

Santorini’s villages – Definitely pay a visit to the different settlements and villages of Santorini, such as Oia which is perched on the cliffs of Caldera overlooking the sea. If you wish to watch the renowned sunset of Santorini, take your seat on the cliffs and hold your significant other’s hand for utterly emotional moments. To get the whole picture though, you should also visit Santorini’s inland, where the true pulse of the locals beat. Go to the traditional wine village of Megalochori, 5km away from the main town, Fira, and travel back in time staying in one of the Santorini Villas and Mansions once housing old wineries.

By Mstyslav Chernov [CC-BY-SA-3.0], via Wikimedia Commons

Archaeological Site of Akrotiri – The settlement of Akrotiri is considered to be a Minoan colony which was destroyed by the violent 17th century BC earthquake, as most of the settlements in Santorini. Thanks to the recent renovations the site is now completed shaded and even friendlier to visitors.

By Klearchos Kapoutsis under CC BY 2.0

The settlement of Ancient Thira in Mesa Vouno – Located in the southeast of Santorini, Ancient Thira is the island’s jewel.

The volcanic islet of Nea Kameni – Located in the centre of Caldera, the islet is one of the most popular attractions in Santorini accessible only by boat. You can reach the crater of the volcano and also swim in the existing thermal baths.

Amazing beaches to swim

Vlychada Beach – Imposing rocks curved by the air and sea stand right above the beach, creating a truly lunar landscape for a relaxing day on the beach. There is also a beach bar perched on the rocks for delicious food and drink. This is one of the beaches in Santorini you should definetly visit.

By Daniel Duce under CC BY 2.0

Red Beach – Surrounded by red rocks, this unusual beach offers an isolated and peaceful setting for sunbathing and swimming in crystal clear waters. You’d better bring your own beach equipment though and there are only few sun beds and umbrellas here; however you’ll find a small canteen for basic food and drink.

By magnipier under CC BY 2.0

White Beach – Right next to the Red Beach, this little cove with the whitewashed pebbles and transparent waters can only be reached by boat from its neighboring beach, thus creating an ideal setting for a lovely day at the seashore.

By Simon Q under CC BY 2.0

Athens is all about sightseeing… we’ve no objection to that, as the city is filled with ancient ruins and impressive structures like the Acropolis, the Temple of Olympian Zeus right in the city centre and the archaeological sites of scenic Plaka, to name just a few.

Now, what could be the best coffee shop for a culture vulture, if not a museum café? And because pleasant surprises and beautiful images are what make a holiday memorable, don’t miss these hot picks that not only offer a revitalizing hit of caffeine, but also splendid views and great atmosphere in the heart of Athens. So, if you are planning to visit this stunning city and eagerly getting ready to explore, there are three things you’ll need to get sorted: central Athens accommodation, a pair of comfy trainers and plans for the best stops for coffee to boost your energy levels on a busy day exploring.

The Acropolis Museum – Café

After a thoroughly enjoyable visit to the unmissable newly built Acropolis Museum, admiring the magnificent and creative skills of ancient Greeks, you’ll certainly need something to delight your palate. Head to the 2nd floor of the museum, where you’ll find a huge sun-lit terrace with fantastic views of the Acropolis along with a little perk-me-up in the form of great flavoured coffee. Plus, if you manage to get there before 12 o’clock you’ll get the chance to savour the restaurant’s traditional Greek breakfast. The Acropolis Museum is easily reachable by metro (Acropoli station).

Benaki Museum – Café

Displaying exhibits of ancient Greece, as well as paintings depicting Greek history through time, Benaki museum is housed in a well-preserved new classical building and centrally located, close to Syntagma Square (Evangelismos metro station on the Blue line). Highlight of the museum is definitely considered its rooftop café with a large terrace offering panoramic views of Acropolis, Lycabettus hill and the National Gardens. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack to tame your hunger until your next stop.

Numismatic Museum of Athens – Café

This impressive building designed by famous German architect Ernest Schiller houses a rich collection of ancient and modern coins. However, the museum also has a little secret called the Coffee Shop in the Numismatic Museum’s Garden! It’s a cozy café nestled amidst the museum’s lush garden, serving exceptional coffee and snacks. Although, the view is not as dramatic as some of the others we’ve mentioned, the whole atmosphere invites you to take some time out and simply relax in elegant surroundings. The Numismatic Museum of Athens is centrally located on Panepistimiou Street, just a few minutes’ walk from Syntagma Square.

Athens, the vibrant Greek Capital is a 24 hour city. People meet at all hours of the day, for drinks with friends, coffee in the mornings, or dancing until the first metro starts at 6am. When it comes to nightlife, the options are endless, with bars and clubs, cafeterias, open squares and tavernas. If you want to take an Athens night out just follow the tips below or trust your instinct and find the best ways to have fun in this amazing city. Start from the center of Athens, go and meet some locals, and enjoy another take on this historic city.

Drunk Sinatra, Kolokotroni & Thiseos Street, Athens

This is one of the most popular bars in the city and has become ‘talk of the town’ over the last few months. Found on the pedestrianised Thiseos Street, close to Karytsi Square, it stars the legendary Frank Sinatra! Playing the music of the Rat Pack and with carefully chosen décor, it packs them in! We suggest the aromatic passion fruit cocktail. It might just fly you to the moon! Take an Athens tour to explore some bars in Athens city and take some inside tips or info from locals.

By Divya Thakur under CC BY-SA 2.0

Brettos, 41 Kidathinaion, Plaka

Brettos is not just a favourite with visitors, locals regularly seek out an unusual flavor in here. The oldest distillery in the city, it dates back over 100 years and really hasn’t changed much. The bar is filled with hundreds of brightly coloured bottles each containing a homemade liqueur. We highly recommend the Maraschino flavour!

Mikro bar, 13 Kiprou Glyfada

Although in the Southern Suburbs of Athens, Mikro Bar is certainly worth the trip. A futuristic spot with industrial design, drinks come in mini bottles, while the cocktails are edgy, but delicious. Mikro Bar is a glamorous place, so make sure you dress to impress.

Monk bar, 15-17 Kolokotroni Street, Athens

This is a brand new spot in the center of Athens that welcomes you from early morning with a cosy coffee, leisurely drink with good jazz, soul and funky music in the evening, or, of course, some of the best cocktails in town. It’s an ideal choice for the winter months with speciality cocktails like the ‘Smoking Monk’ (a steamy version of Manhattan) or the ‘Cucumber Thrill’, a spicy and aromatic mix, based on gin, with cucumber and lime! The décor is excellent, with medieval references that are a clear nod to monasteries. The style is gothic, with hidden archways and corners that give it a mysterious atmosphere.

London bar & resto, 72 Solonos, Athens

A London corner bar in Kolonaki, Athens! In the heart of the city, where the chic Kolonaki meets the bohemian Exarcheia, at the foot of Lycabettus Hill, the London bar is waiting for coffee, dinner or a drink. It’s an ideal meeting point, on the pulse of the city, a place that’s really drawing crowds and making a name for itself.
