5 Skin Secrets of the Stars

Celebrities need to take care of their skin. If they don’t, they could find it difficult to get work, and their overall image will suffer. Sure, celebrities have a lot of money to spend at the dermatologist’s office, but that doesn’t mean they don’t do things on their own to take care of their skin. You can do some of these simple things without breaking the bank to improve your own skin.

Tan the Healthy Way

Having tan looking skin can help hide blemishes and make your skin look even, even when it isn’t. Unfortunately, the sun can cause all sorts of skin problems, so baking by the beach isn’t an option. That’s why many stars go for a high-quality spray tan. That’s something you can do too, and you don’t have to go to a Beverly Hills salon.

Massage

Facial massage isn’t a technique many people know about. However, it’s one many celebrities employ in their skin care routine. To massage your face, all you need to do is work in small, outward circles from the bridge of your nose and the middle of your forehead with your fingertips. This will get your blood circulating, and it can help firm your skin while getting rid of dark circles under your eyes.

Always Moisturize

Even though they know better, most people don’t use a high-quality moisturizer every single day. If you want to have celebrity-ready skin, you need to use your moisturizer at least once every day. Why? Because skin that’s moisturized will show fewer blemishes, fine lines and even little wrinkles. Use two different moisturizers for morning and evening – the one you use at night should be heavier and the one you use during the day should disappear quickly so your skin doesn’t have an unappealing shine.

Use a Face Mask

Nighttime face masks are excellent for tired, dull looking skin. To make your own, simply combine 1 egg, a quarter-tablespoon of honey, a few drops of olive oil and a dash of lemon juice. Stir the mixture up and apply it to clean skin. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off with tepid water.

Drink More Water

Water might not sound like a secret, but it’s one of the best weapons in any celebrity’s skin care arsenal. You already know that drinking water is important for your health, but you may not know how vital it is for your skin. Water helps improve elasticity and even minimize fine lines and wrinkles. It can also improve your complexion by getting rid of free radicals that can damage your skin. The old eight-by-eight rule is no longer valid, so just remember: if you’re thirsty, you’re not drinking enough water.
